Causes of Depression, Anxiety or Stress:
If
you live under a dark cloud of depression, struggle
with anxiety and stress or can't tune out negative
mind chatter, you may wonder where these old patterns come from.
Depression, anxiety and
stress may develop genetically,
or from a childhood where you felt uncertain or unsafe,
they may develop at a certain age, come with low self esteem, during illness, relationship problems, loss, transition,
career changes or during a time of general stress when several things pile on top of each other.
These 'negative
mental programs' usually developed when you were young (in childhood, teen or young adult) or during a difficult time in
your life. They may have been conscious or unconscious but at the
time they seemed to work; they helped you cope and handle

Genetically you
may be predisposed towards anxiety or depression just as you have
a certain eye or hair color or body shape. It
may run in your family; parents, grandparents. It could be a part
of your personality. What you can do, is heal old pattern and
learn new choices that take better care of you.
Depression,
anxiety, tendency to 'stress easily' can be initiated in
childhood when
you felt uncertain, unsafe or unprotected. In
homes where the parent(s) or caregivers were unavailable or unloving
because they were busy or due to work, distractions, illness,
addictions or death, feelings of uncertainty grow and can be easily
triggered in adulthood. These feelings sabotage self confidence & loving relationships.
Anxiety
or depression can be triggered when
you reach a certain age, or when you are worried, stressed,
by illness, when you are very busy, when busy with
children of our own.
They can be triggered when you are at a job that is stressful
or you don't like; by breathing shallow, poor eating
habits, allergies, lack of water, not enough exercise,
being over or under weight, body image issues, relationship
problems, lack of love or support, low self esteem, a chemical
imbalance in your body or brain. One client who was raped
as a teenager had feelings of fear appear when her son reached
the age of her rapist. .... and the list goes on.

They Developed to Stop Emotional Pain:
The
patterns of depression, anxiety (and others) often developed to
'stop emotional or physical pain', when a parent or guardian
was unavailable or unable to give you the love and care that you
needed. (this could have been caused by addictions, illness, work,
abuse, death, divorce etc.) They may have been from trauma's during
your life or emotional abuse, physical abuse or sexual abuse'.
These
old patterns stop you from experiencing self confidence,
joy, peace, love, success, positive self esteem, health, happy relationships
and other things that you desire.
